INSIDE THE NUMBERS
The Grizzlies' defense has been woeful, giving up an average of 112.3 points during their six-game losing streak. Memphis has lost by an average of 12.2 points during that span. Rookie guard is one of few bright spots, averaging 27.5 points on 56-percent shooting over the last four contests. As for the Hawks, they lead the league in 3-point shooting at 42 percent.
THE SKINNY
The Hawks have won the last four games in the overall series after the Griz had won the previous six. This season, Atlanta is 5-1 at Philips Arena. Keep an eye on Hawks forward Josh Smith, who signed an offer sheet with the Griz on Aug. 8 only to have it matched. Smith is expected to return to the lineup. Atlanta lost Smith to a sprained ankle after the 22-year-old forward had averaged a double-double in his first three contests. Griz reserve Quinton Ross hasn't participated in full-contact practices over the past two days and still is listed as day-to-day.
THE QUOTE
"I'll be 100 percent. I've just got to work on getting my wind back under me and my timing, but from an injury standpoint, I think I'm ready to play."
-- Atlanta's Josh Smith on his return from injury.
