The Grizzlies have assigned Iranian center Hamed Haddadi to their NBA Developmental League affiliate in the Dakota Wizards.
General manager Chris Wallace announced the move Tuesday. The 7-foot-2 Haddadi had not played for the Grizzlies in the regular season, and he averaged 1.7 points and 3.3 rebounds in an average of 9.7 minutes of play in six preseason games.
Haddadi played for Iran in the Olympics in Beijing and averaged a double-double in five games. His debut is expected in Bismarck on Saturday in the Wizards' regular season opener.
