The Washington Wizards unveiled new-look uniforms on Tuesday morning, showcasing a new red, white and blue color scheme for the 2011 season and beyond. The new uniforms pay homage to the throwback Washington Bullets unis from the '70s and '80s.
Wizards owner Ted Leonsis took over the Wizards franchise in 2009 and stated last year that he intended to switch the team's color scheme to red, white and blue in honor of their city- the nation's capital. He did the same thing with the Washington Capitals, who he also owns, in 2007 to positive reviews.
The Wizards are also considering reverting back to the "Bullets"
nickname, which they abandoned in 1997, but stated it will take much more time and effort than the jersey switch.
