The Washington Wizards limited the Charlotte Bobcats to one field goal in the third quarter and cruised to a 108-75 victory on Monday night that snapped a seven-game losing streak.
Nick Young scored 21 points for the Wizards, short-handed while No. 1 pick John Wall remained injured and Rashard Lewis was unavailable after coming in a trade with Orlando for Gilbert Arenas.
Washington used a 21-2 run to start the third quarter and held Charlotte without a field goal for 12:20 in the second half of its biggest victory since a 103-72 win over Atlanta in January 2006.
Charlotte set a franchise low by getting only Boris Diaw's layup with 10:13 left in the third. Stephen Jackson scored 13 points for the Bobcats, who have lost three of their last five games by more than 25 points.
The Bobcats were 1 of 14 from the floor and had nine turnovers while tying a season low with 11 points in the third period. It was the first time the Wizards held an opponent to one field goal in a quarter since April 2008 against Philadelphia.
Washington took advantage of Charlotte's cold shooting, as Kirk Hinrich had eight points and seven assists in the quarter to record his second straight double-double, finishing with 18 points and 11 rebounds.
Both teams got off to a hot start, with Washington setting a season high for first-quarter points with 32 while shooting 63 percent from the floor. Charlotte was equally on-target, shooting 65 percent.
Hinrich pushed the pace for the Wizards, and his steal and layup sparked Washington in an 8-0 run to extend the early lead to 21-12.
Josh Howard hit a 3-pointer on the Wizards' first possession of the second quarter, pushing the lead to 35-25, but then Washington misfired on eight straight shots. A nifty, spinning reverse layup by Shaun Livingston with 1.9 seconds left cut the Wizards' lead to 50-45 at halftime.
But then Charlotte went cold and lost its ninth straight on the road, its longest such skid since 2008.
